Cross Correlate

Category: Data Processing and Evaluation – Images
Description: Cross Correlate With Sub-Pixel Precision A simple script function to measure relative spatial shift of two images by CrossCorrelation. The maximum position in the cross correlation image is "refined" with sub-pixel precision by quadratic interpolation as suggested by Thomas Gemming. An alternative function of finding the maximum cross correlation is also provided in the script, which uses the "IUImageFindMax()" script function in Gatan's ImageUtilities.dll (a standard plug-in comes with GMS1.5.1 or higher)
Comments: None. Measured spatial shift results by either function on some test images are fairly accurate (albeit not perfect). It would be greatly appreciated that readers can inform author if there is a case this function does not work well. Please also see "Statistically Determined Spatial Drift Correction".
