Package Creator is an attempt to remove the need for scripting when creating packages, by using an intuitive dialog-based approach. Version control is implemented by keeping scripts in a central repository – ideally a
networked volume. The version number of scripts is interrogated by Package Creator and compared with previous installation records. If a newer version of a script is found in the repository, compared with that last installed in the package, then it is flagged as being not current. The out of date package is deleted and updated by resaving the package. |
