Periodic Table Dialog

Category: Dialogs
Description: An example script showing the use of dialogues to use periodic table information. This is useful in a lot of microscopy calculations where chemical element information is used. In this case, an element from a list of the periodic table is selected and the atomic number and atomic weight are displayed. Pressing the 'calculate' button displays a dialog showing the current element and its atomic number and weight. This script can be readily modified to calculate something useful on the basis of the selected element, e.g. as used by the Mean Free Path Estimator by the same author. Other Dialog-Examples:Very simple PushButton ; BevelButton ;enabling/disabling buttons
Comments: For more demos on dialogues, also check Calculator by the same author.
Acknowledgements: Components of this script have been extracted from Bernhard Schaffer's EELS-Edges-Chart script (also available here). The element, and atomic symbol listings are due to W Grogger, the atomic weight listings are due to the author.
