Description: 
Function to calculate the standard deviation (sigma n1) of a series of values. These are passed into the function as a single line image where the pixel values are the data values. The function also returns the number of data points, the mean and the sum. This example function creates a series of data, calls the function, then reports the results.

To calcualte the standard deviation of an image (any size) you can also use the DM command variance() and then take the squareroot of the result:
