Description: Script to calculate the net angle resulting from an initial and final set of goniometer tilt values. Use this script to calculate the net angle resulting from the two sets of tilts. This may be of use when tilting between zone axes and you wish to confirm that the zone axes you are working with are consistent with the tilts used. This script makes extensive use dialogs to display the information in an intuitive and user friendly manner. The 'Get Current Tilts' button is designed to work with a JEOL microscope with a serial connection extablished (microscope must be in EXT 1 mode) AND a computer controllable stage (2010F in our case). For other microscopes you will need to either edit the code indicated to provide the relevant instructions for your scope - the script is annotated where you need to change stuff - or just ignore the button. If you manually enter the relevant data in the Final X and Y boxes the script works fine. A script for a non-computer controlled stage TEM is also available (Tilt Angle Calculator FXII), which does not have the Get Current Tilts button.
