University assistant position, 40 h / week, starting October 2020, Institute of Electron Microscopy and Nanoanalysis, Graz University of Technology, Austria.
Working area:
The post is situated in the highly attractive field of nano-structuring with focused electron beam methods and nano-characterization based on transmission electron microscopy and associated spectroscopic techniques. Embedded in the fields of plasmonics, sensing and nano-analysis, fundamental new insights will pave the way into open frontiers in 3D nano-optics.
The candidate holds a Master degree (or equivalent) in physics, material sciences or chemistry. She/he ought to be knowledgeable and interested in experimental physical methods such as Scanning Electron Microscopy, Focused Ion Beam Processing, Charged Particle Beam Induced Deposition, Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy, Spectroscopy and want to work on their PhD thesis. Team orientation is mandatory as well as persistence to follow up on details. Self-organization, very good English skills and the readiness to present, discuss and formulate the results internally and on conferences, round up the candidates´ portfolio. The post will require to assist in academic teaching.
The position is embedded in the collective contractual scheme (level B1), 40 h / week with teaching responsibilities at a monthly salary (14x) of € 2.929,00 before taxes.
